Success Story: New Patient Call System - Ready to Use

Activate it instantly, start benefiting immediately: The new patient call module from heyPatient enables efficient patient management – in 21 languages. Stand-alone or integrated. You decide.

Efficient patient flow thanks to a smart call system

A seamless patient journey through innovative technology

With the opening of its new AGNES building, the Kantonsspital Baden (KSB) has taken a major step in digital patient care.

A key element: the newly integrated patient call system from heyPatient. The modern solution ensures structured and efficient patient flow – from check-in to consultation.

Challenge: Efficient patient coordination in a dynamic environment

With hundreds of patients per day, KSB needed a system that reduces waiting times, provides clear status updates, and helps with orientation throughout the hospital.

The diversity of departments – including patient administration, surgery, and urology – required a solution that is both flexible and scalable.

Solution: A smart, flexible call system – instantly ready to use

The system currently operates with six queues, 24 consultation rooms, and seven announcing displays.Additional rooms, queues, and displays can be added flexibly at any time.

A central overview display in the cafeteria allows patients to wait more comfortably, while targeted display areas within departments offer relevant, specific guidance.

A special highlight: the system supports 21 languages – enabling barrier-free use for international patients and their companions.

Integrated status updates, wayfinding, and easy configurability result in tangible efficiency gains – both for staff and for patients.

Results: A smart solution with visible impact

More than 40 doctors and over 20 staff members in patient reception and departmental administration actively use the system. The benefits are clear:

  • Reduced waiting times & clearer patient navigation: Thanks to the structured call logic and clear visual cues, patients always know when and where they are expected

  • Greater flexibility: The system can be easily adapted to changing workflows and quickly rolled out to additional departments.

  • Intuitive operation: The interface was continuously refined in close collaboration with KSB to ensure optimal usability for healthcare staff.

  • Enhanced patient experience: The stress-free and well-structured navigation throughout the treatment process significantly increases patient satisfaction.

More flexibility: Stand-alone or integrated – it's your choice

The new module can be activated instantly without any system integration – ideal for institutions wanting to see fast results or take a phased approach.

For integrated use, the system connects smoothly via HL7 FHIR and existing interfaces to most HIS and ERP systems.
